Composite High-Pressure Tanks for CNG and Hydrogen (H₂)

A high-pressure gas storage tank made from composite materials, including carbon fiber, resin, and plastic, is designed for storing compressed natural gas (CNG) or hydrogen. This type of tank is classified as a Type IV high-pressure vessel. In this research, it is designed to operate at a pressure of 250 bar for the transportation of compressed natural gas.

Chrysanthemum mutation by chemical mutagen

This study examines the effects of chemical mutagens, ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS) and colchicine in inducing mutations in Chrysanthemum spp. through tissue culture techniques. In vitro cultures of Chrysanthemum were treated with various concentrations of EMS and colchicine to assess their impact on shoot regeneration and mutation frequency. Results indicated that EMS significantly increased phenotypic variability, leading to enhanced flower color and size, while colchicine treatment effectively induced polyploidy, resulting in plants with greater flower size and overall vigor. Morphological assessments, along with genetic analyses using molecular markers, confirmed the mutations associated with these treatments. The integration of chemical mutagenesis with tissue culture presents a promising approach for developing novel Chrysanthemum varieties with improved ornamental traits.

Effect of fructooligosaccharide supplementation on growth performance, intestinal morphology, intestinal microbiota stress index carcass quality and meat quality of broiler

Effect of fructooligosaccharide supplementation on growth performance, intestinal morphology, intestinal microbiota stress index carcass quality and meat quality of broiler

Supplementing broilers with different levels of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) under stress conditions, such as higher stocking densities and recycled litter that were not a significant difference in broiler performance, carcass quality and meat quality between the FOS-supplemented groups and the control group (p>0.05). FOS supplementation improved intestinal health by increasing the villus height to crypt depth ratio Lactobacillus populations increased, and Escherichia coli decreased with FOS supplementation. The heterophil-to-lymphocyte ratio was reduced which indicated lower stress.

Development of Carbon Nanofiber Composite Materials for Supercapacitors in Energy Storage

This study presents the development of carbon-based multiphase metal oxide nanocomposites (CNF@MOx; M = Ag, Mn, Bi, Fe) incorporating silver, manganese, bismuth, and iron nanoparticles within polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-derived carbon nanofibers. These nanocomposites were fabricated via the electrospinning technique followed by annealing in an argon atmosphere. The resulting nanofibers exhibited a uniform structure, with diameters ranging from 559 to 830 nm and embedded nanoparticles of 9-21 nm. Structural characterization confirmed the presence of various oxidation states of metal oxides, which play a crucial role in charge storage mechanisms. Electrochemical performance testing demonstrated that CNF@Ag/Mn/Bi/Fe-20 achieved the highest specific capacitance of 156 F g⁻¹ at a scan rate of 2 mV s⁻¹ and exhibited excellent cycling stability, retaining over 96% of its capacitance after 1400 charge-discharge cycles. The synergistic combination of electric double-layer capacitance and redox-based charge storage enhances the performance of these nanofibers as promising electrode materials for supercapacitor applications.

Selection of landrace rice varieties resistant to saline soil

Rice is a salt-sensitive crop. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of salinity at flowering stage on physiological traits and yield of landrace rice. The experiment design was 4*10 Factorial in RCBD with 4 replications. Factor A was four salinity levels: control, 6, 12 and 16 dS/m; Factor B was 10 rice varieties. Data were collected on physiological traits and grain yield. The results showed that increasing salinity level decreased rice yield. The highest yield reduction was found when the rice received salt stress at 16 dS/m. In addition, rice varieties showed different yield performance when exposed to salt stress. In this found that Hom Yai variety had the lowest yield reduction when grown at 16 dS/m salinity level and did not differ from salt tolerant check variety.

Graphene Oxide Composite Membrane for Wastewater Treatment

This research focuses on the fabrication of graphene oxide (GO) composite membranes using the Phase-Inversion Method, which transforms polymers from liquid to solid through phase separation. This process creates a porous membrane structure, making it highly adaptable, cost-effective, and suitable for wastewater treatment, separation processes, and industrial filtration applications. Graphene oxide, with its nano-layered structure, offers excellent molecular sieving properties, high water permeability, and chemical and mechanical stability, making it an ideal additive for membrane fabrication. The GO-based membrane demonstrates efficient removal of nanoparticles, heavy metal ions (Pb²⁺, Cr⁶⁺, Hg²⁺), organic pollutants, and microorganisms while exhibiting antifouling properties and high hydrophilicity due to oxygen-functional groups. Applications of this membrane include industrial wastewater treatment, desalination, and the removal of pharmaceutical contaminants, such as antibiotics and hormones. The incorporation of GO enhances membrane performance, providing a sustainable and energy-efficient solution for water purification.

Efficacy of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) peel hot water extract against Aeromonas hydrophila infection of seabass fingerling (Lates calcarifer)

Mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana Linn.) extract using hot water (MPE) has been shown to have antibacterial potential in freshwater sea bass (Lates calcarifer) larvae infected with Aeromonas hydrophila. In vitro studies showed that MPE has a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 25 ppm and a minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of 25 ppm. In vivo, sea bass larvae were immersed in various concentrations of MPE at 0 ppm (control), 20 ppm, 40 ppm and 60 ppm, respectively, for 7 days with A. hydrophila. The results showed that the MPE-treated group had a higher survival rate compared to the control group. Hematological parameters showed that the MPE-treated group had significantly increased red blood cell (RBC), white blood cell (WBC) and hemoglobin (Hb) concentrations compared to the control group. In addition, the water quality parameters were not significantly different, except for ammonia concentration, with MPE having an ammonia concentration of 60 ppm being the lowest. All results can indicate that MPE can improve the antibacterial potential and the culture potential of sea bass larvae.
