Details

This document reports on the results of an internship and co-operative education at a factory that manufactures electrical and electronic components for vehicles to develop a robot to inspect screw-hole threads automatically. In the development, the Janome Robot, Stepping Motor, and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) are assembled and controlled by software specifically written to be capable of inspecting the quality of screw threads and torque. After implementing the developed robot into the production line, the author found that it could use and effectively replace human labor with one month's payback.
