This research develops a "Smart Battery Management System (BMS) Demonstration Kit for Electric Vehicles" — a scaled-down prototype that measures battery cell voltage, current, and temperature while precisely controlling cell balancing and charge-discharge processes, supported by a real-time dashboard. The kit integrates LSTM and GRU AI models for accurate prediction of battery voltage and State of Charge (SoC) under varying load conditions, enabling early anomaly detection and predictive maintenance. Designed for exhibition displays and as a teaching resource for higher education and vocational institutions, this demonstration kit delivers meaningful impact across education, research, and innovation development in Thailand's electric vehicle industry.
Objective
The project aims to develop a smart BMS demonstration kit for EVs, featuring AI-based real-time analysis to serve as an educational tool and a foundation for local industrial innovation.
- To develop a functional, scaled-down prototype of a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) for electric vehicles, suitable for exhibition displays.
- To design and develop a real-time display system for analyzing battery voltage and State of Charge (SoC) by applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) models such as LSTM and GRU.
- To create demonstration media for learning and training on battery management systems for students, engineers, and industrial entrepreneurs interested in EV technology and embedded systems.
- To elevate knowledge in BMS and AI technology, enabling further commercial development and application in domestic EV production or BMS design.
- To support the institution's showcase at the KMITL Innovation EXPO 2026 and integrate research into practical innovative applications.
