This work presents the fabrication of a handheld meter for the potentiometric detection of Hg (II) using an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET) platform. The developed device demonstrates high accuracy and precision, with results comparable to standard ICP-OES analysis.
This work presents the fabrication of the handheld meter for potentiometric detection of Hg (II). The meter was constructed based on using an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET) platform. The developed meter provides high accuracy and precision (%Recovery was in the range of 92.55 - 109.32 and %RSD was 2.38). It was applied to the analysis of cosmetic samples. The results by the developed electrode were not significantly different at a 95% confidence level compared to the results by using ICP-OES.

Objective
The objectives are to fabricate an electrode by immobilizing a chemical sensor on an ISFET, evaluate its performance in water and cosmetic samples, and develop a portable prototype for field applications.
- To fabricate an electrode by immobilizing a chemical sensor for mercury detection onto an ISFET.
- To test the performance and application of the developed electrode for mercury detection in water sources and cosmetics.
- To develop a prototype electrode system for mercury detection that is ready for field use.
